Cake Writing Generator

Pick a cake shape (round, heart or square) and size (4, 6, 7 or 8 inches), choose the frosting and sponge, then type your message. It appears piped in buttercream on a top-down view of the cake, spelled exactly as you typed it. Drag the writing to move it, change the size and curve, and the tool tells you how tall each letter would be on the real cake. Add a shell, wave or bead border, set how many hearts, stars, flowers and bears go on top, or pipe your own drawing with a finger. When you are done, save a design sheet for the bakery (top view plus size, colors, exact wording, decorations, candles and pickup date, 1080×1350) and a candle-lit cake card (1080×1920). Free, no sign-up, no AI, and nothing leaves your device.

Cake sizes and how many letters fit on a line

SizeWidthLetters per line (1.2 cm / 1 cm tall)
4 in4 in (10 cm)8 / 10
6 in6 in (15 cm)12 / 15
7 in7 in (18 cm)15 / 18
8 in8 in (21 cm)18 / 21

Sizes follow the round cakes bakeries commonly sell (4, 6, 7 and 8 inches). Letter counts come from the same width the tool uses when it shrinks your message (about 80% of a round cake), for mixed upper and lower case letters.

What to tell the bakery with your design

  1. Shape and size, in inches or centimeters.
  2. Sponge and frosting color. A picture with color swatches beats color names.
  3. The exact wording, including line breaks. The design sheet quotes it with / between lines.
  4. Letter color and rough letter size. The sheet lists the letter height in cm.
  5. Decorations and how many, plus candles (number or regular).
  6. Pickup date and time, and any notes such as candles packed separately.

How it works

  1. 1

In "Cake", choose the shape, size, frosting color, sponge and border.

  2. 2

In "Text", type the message (up to 3 lines). Drag it on the cake to move it, then adjust the size and curve. The real letter height shows in inches and centimeters.

  3. 3

In "Decor", set how many hearts, stars, flowers and bears and how many sprinkles. In "Pipe", draw on the cake with your finger. Slow strokes come out thicker.

  4. 4

In "Order", add who it is for, the age, candles, pickup date and notes. Save "For the bakery" and send it, or save the candle-lit "Cake card" for your story.

FAQ

How do I show the bakery exactly what I want written on the cake?

Send one top-down sketch together with the size, frosting color, the exact wording, letter color, number of decorations, candles and pickup date. A photo of someone else’s cake alone tends to get read as “something like this”. The “For the bakery” image puts all of that under the drawing on one sheet. Bakeries differ on what they can pipe and what it costs, so send the design before you order and ask.

How many letters fit on a 6-inch cake?

With this tool’s math, about 12 to 15 letters fit on one line of a 6-inch (15 cm) round cake with letters 1.2 to 1 cm tall. The size table below has the count for each cake. Longer messages shrink to fit, and buttercream writing gets hard to read once letters drop below about 1 cm (0.4 in) tall. The tool shows the real letter height under the text box, so shorten the message or pick a bigger cake if it gets too small. You can write up to 3 lines of 16 characters.

What should I write on a birthday cake?

Short lines work best: “Happy Birthday Mia”, “Hip Hip Hooray”, “Another Year Awesome”, “Thanks for Being You”, for a couple “Happy Anniversary” or “Still My Favorite”, and for a send-off “Congrats Grad” or “Good Luck in the Next Chapter”. Tap “Ideas” under the text box to try them on the cake. The shorter the line, the bigger and cleaner the piping.

Can I draw on the cake with my finger?

Yes. Choose “Pipe” and draw on the cake. Each stroke turns into a line of frosting. Slow strokes come out thick, like squeezing the piping bag longer, and fast strokes come out thin. Pick a fine, medium or wide tip and a color, and use “Undo” to take back the last stroke. Lines outside the cake are not kept.

What cake sizes can I pick?

Mini 4 in (10 cm), 6 in (15 cm), 7 in (18 cm) and 8 in (21 cm). These match the round cake sizes bakeries commonly sell. Heart and square cakes use the same width. The design sheet lists both inches and centimeters so any bakery can read it.

Number candles or regular candles?

Pick “Number” and the cake card shows candles shaped like the age, for example 30. “Regular” means one candle per year, placed around the back so they do not cover the writing (the card draws up to 20). The choice and count go into the order sheet too, so the bakery knows what to pack.

What sizes are the saved images?

The bakery sheet is 1080×1350 (4:5), easy to read in a text or email. The cake card is 1080×1920 (9:16) for stories and leaves the top clear for the lock screen clock. Both are made on your device and never uploaded.

What is in the share link? Is anything saved?

The link itself carries a compressed copy of the design: shape, colors, wording, decorations, up to 600 points of your drawing and the order notes. Nothing is stored on a server, so only people with the link can open it, and they can edit it and send it back. This device only keeps your latest design so you can pick up where you left off.
