Birth Color Finder & Birthday Pattern Maker

One birthday, one color: find your birth color and its name among 366 colors, one for every day of the year including February 29. The month sets a seasonal color family (March is blossom pink, October is maple orange) and the day sets the shade and the name, so birthdays one day apart still get different shades. Add up to 30 birthdays (family, friends, a partner or a whole class) and each color becomes a thread woven into gingham, tartan, windowpane, ditsy floral or checkerboard. Save it as a square, a 9:16 wallpaper or an A4 print. Names and birthdays never leave your browser.

For example, March 14 gives (14 − 1) ÷ 5 = 2 remainder 3, so the shade is "Rich" and the name is March's third one, "Strawberry Milk": Rich Strawberry Milk (#E15CA3). March 15 is Deep Strawberry Milk, and March 16 moves on to Pale Spring Ribbon. Birthdays a day apart get different shades, so they still stand apart in the same pattern, though a few pale shades from different months look alike.

How it works

  1. 1

Pick Family, Friends, The two of us or Our class, then enter a name (optional) and a birthday month and day for each person. Tap "+ Add one more" for up to 30 people.

  2. 2

Each row shows that person's birth color name right away (March 14 is Rich Strawberry Milk), and the pattern preview updates as you type.

  3. 3

Choose gingham, tartan, windowpane, florals or checkerboard, then change the background and scale or tap "Shuffle threads" for a new arrangement.

  4. 4

Pick Square, Wallpaper 9:16 or A4 print and tap "Save image". The name label lists names with color names (names only above 6 people); turn it off to save the pattern alone, or tap "Card" on any row for a single birth color card.

FAQ

How is my birth color decided?

Wimo uses its own rule. The month picks a seasonal color family: January winter sky blue, February winter night violet, March blossom pink, April forsythia yellow, May new-leaf green, June hydrangea orchid, July summer sea teal, August sunflower amber, September autumn sky blue, October maple orange, November pine green and December strawberry red. For the day, the remainder of (day − 1) ÷ 5 picks the shade (Pale, Light, Soft, Rich, Deep) and the quotient picks one of seven names for that month. March 14 gives remainder 3 (Rich) and quotient 2 (Strawberry Milk), so it is Rich Strawberry Milk. All 366 names and color values are different, though a few pale shades from different months look very close to the eye.

Why is my birth color different on other birth color websites?

There is no official birth color chart. Japanese birth color dictionaries, color astrology books and other websites each pick their own 366 colors, and those charts are their own work, so we did not copy them. Wimo birth colors come from the month-and-day rule above, so they can differ from other charts. They are not meant to predict personality or luck. Think of them as a fun way to turn birthdays into a pattern.

How many birthdays can I add?

Up to 30 on one sheet, enough for a whole class or a big family reunion. Up to 6 people, the name label shows each name (or date) with its birth color name; from 7 on, it lists small thread dots with names in four or five columns, so everyone in a class of 30 can find their thread. With many people the pattern gets finer on its own so every thread fits on the sheet. Shared birthdays simply repeat the same thread color.

Which patterns can I make?

Five. Gingham alternates color bands and background like a picnic cloth. Tartan uses wide bands and thin lines that mirror back on themselves. Windowpane runs a bold line paired with a fine line over the background. Ditsy floral scatters tiny five-petal flowers, one color per person. Checkerboard alternates birth color squares with background squares along diagonals. "Shuffle threads" rearranges the same people into a new order.

Can I use it as a phone wallpaper?

Yes. Choose "Wallpaper 9:16" (1080 × 1920 px), turn off the name label so it does not sit under your clock or widgets, and save. The "Bold" scale reads best on a lock screen. For a profile picture or group chat icon, "Square" (1080 × 1080 px) will not get cropped.

Is there a birth color for February 29?

Yes. Every day from January 1 to December 31, including February 29, has its own color. February 29 gives remainder 3 (Rich) and quotient 5 (Violet), so leap day babies get Rich Violet, a color nobody else has.

How big is the A4 print?

"A4 print" saves 2480 × 3508 px, which is 300 dpi at 210 × 297 mm, so lines stay crisp on a home printer. US Letter printers will scale it slightly to fit. With the name label on, your group name and thread list print at the bottom. It also makes nice wrapping paper or a planner insert.

Are the names and birthdays I enter saved?

No. The pattern is drawn inside your browser, and names and birthdays are never sent to a server or stored. They disappear when you close the page, so save the image if you like it. We never ask for a birth year.
