Prize Draw & Kuji Board
This free prize draw generator builds a board of folded kuji tickets: set how many tickets and prizes you have, then tear tickets open one by one to pick winners. Everything runs in your browser, and you can print a foldable A4 ticket set from the same setup.
Good to know
Example boards
| Event | Setup | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Office party, 50 guests | Prize A 1 · Prize B 3 · Prize C 10 · Blank 36 | 50 tickets |
| Club booth, 100 tickets | Prize A 2 · Prize B 8 · Prize C 20 · Blank 70 | 100 tickets |
| Five friends, group pick | Picker 1 · Dare 2 · Pass 2 | 5 names |
Fewer prizes and more players? Leave plenty of blanks so the queue moves quickly. If the tier quantities add up to more than the total number of tickets, the board stops before anyone can draw; leftover tickets become blanks automatically.
How to print and fold the tickets
- Set up the board and choose "Printable kuji PDF". Each A4 sheet holds 24 tickets, and the last page is a large prize guide for the booth. The PDF is shuffled separately from the screen, so it works as its own paper draw set.
- Print on A4 at 100% (actual size). Regular copy paper works, but 65–110 lb cardstock folds and holds up better. For less see-through, use thicker or coloured paper.
- Cut along the thin lines between tickets, then fold each ticket on the dashed centre line so the prize half stays inside and the patterned half covers the result.
- Staple or glue the two side edges. The number and pattern stay on the outside; the result is only visible when the ticket is torn open.
The prize guide page shows the board title, each tier with its quantity and prize name, plus the total number of tickets and blanks. Stand it next to the prize table so everyone can see the setup before the first ticket is pulled.
Keeping the draw fair
- The deck is shuffled with the browser’s cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so every new board gets a fresh order.
- The board locks when the first ticket is opened. Settings cannot change mid-draw; choose "New board" to shuffle and start again.
- The printable PDF is shuffled separately from the on-screen board, so the screen order never appears on paper. The remaining table and draw log show exactly what is left on the screen.
- Names and results stay in your browser. There is no server call or saved history, so a page reload starts a clean board.

How to use it
- 1
In the prize draw tab, set the number of tickets and each tier name, prize and quantity. Leftover tickets become blanks automatically. Switch to group pick if you want to draw for a list of names and roles.
- 2
Tap tickets on the board to tear them open one at a time. The first ticket locks the board; choose "New board" to change the settings and shuffle again.
- 3
Copy a settings link, save the result image, or download the printable kuji PDF. The PDF is shuffled separately for paper draws — print at actual size on A4, cut along the lines, fold on the dashed line and staple the sides.
FAQ
Is the draw fair?
The deck is shuffled with the browser’s cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). Each new board gets a fresh order, and once the first ticket is opened the board locks so the remaining order cannot change.
How do I fold the printed tickets?
Print the PDF on A4 at 100% (actual size), cut along the thin lines and fold each ticket on the dashed centre line. Fold with the print inside so the patterned half covers the prize. For less see-through, print on thicker or coloured paper. Then staple or glue the two side edges so the result stays hidden until someone tears it open.
How many tickets can I make?
A prize draw can have 2 to 300 tickets and up to 8 prize tiers. Group pick supports 2 to 50 names and up to 5 roles; the total number of role slots must be smaller than the number of names.
Does a shared link include the results?
No. The link carries only the board settings — title, ticket count and tiers — not the tickets already opened. In group pick mode the names you typed are part of those settings, so check before sharing.
How does group pick work?
Enter names separated by line breaks or commas, then set the roles. People take turns in the order they were entered; each person taps a ticket and gets the role printed inside, or passes if the ticket is blank.
Are names or results sent anywhere?
No. Shuffling and opening happen entirely in this browser. Names are not sent to a server or stored in your browser; reloading the page starts a fresh board.
Can I add prize photos?
There are no image uploads — you type prize names instead. Tier labels and prize names can each be up to 20 characters, so short labels like "Prize A · Coffee coupon" print most clearly.
