Am I More Like My Mom or Dad? Look-Alike Map

Go through 8 body parts (face shape, eyes, nose, mouth, smile, hands, feet, body type) and 16 habits (temper, sleep habits, taste in food, laugh and more) and tap Mom, Dad, Both, All mine or another relative (Grandma, an aunt, an uncle). A cute character gets colored in Mom's and Dad's colors, body part by part, with the outfit striped by your habits, with a split like "Dad 58% · Mom 34% · All mine 8%". Siblings can take turns on the same phone (up to 4) for a side-by-side family image. No photo needed; save a square (1080×1080) or story (1080×1920) PNG. It maps the resemblance you feel, not your DNA.

FAQ

Do first daughters really look like their dads?

There is no genetic rule that ties birth order to which parent you resemble. You get one set of chromosomes from each parent, and facial features are shaped by many genes working together, so looking exactly like one parent is unlikely. One true detail: a daughter inherits her dad's whole X chromosome. The "first daughter looks like dad" saying mixes facts like that with family stories, which is exactly why it is fun to check.

Is there research saying babies look more like their fathers?

A 1995 Nature paper by Christenfeld and Hill reported that strangers matched one-year-olds to their fathers more often than to their mothers. Later studies, including Brédart and French (1999), could not reproduce that result, and other work found that families simply say "looks like Dad" more often. This quiz skips the verdict and lets you pick the resemblance you notice, trait by trait.

How are the percentages worked out?

Each trait you answer gives one point to Mom, Dad, All mine or the relative you picked, and "Both" splits it half and half between Mom and Dad. Skipped traits are left out, and the shares are rounded to add up to 100%. One side at 65% or more is a "mini-me"; a gap of 10 points or more "leans" that way; anything closer is "half and half". If your 8 body parts lean one way and your 16 habits lean the other, you also get a line like "Mom outside, Dad inside".

Can you inherit personality and habits?

A 2015 meta-analysis of twin and adoption studies (Vukasović and Bratko) estimated that about 40% of the differences in personality between people come from genes, and the rest from environment and experience. Habits like catchphrases, food tastes and tidiness are often picked up just by living together, so here you simply pick who you feel you take after, whether it came from genes or from copying.

What if I take after my grandma or an aunt?

The fifth button is "another relative". Pick Grandma or Grandpa (on either side), an aunt or an uncle below it, and that name shows up on the button and in your result line, like "Aunt's feet".

Can I compare with my brothers and sisters?

Yes. Tap "Add a sibling" under your result and the next person starts fresh. Up to 4 people can take turns on the same phone, then save one image with everyone side by side, like "Kid 1: Dad 71%, Kid 2: Mom 64%".

Do I need to upload a photo? Where are my answers stored?

No photo at all. Your answers and name stay in this browser on this device and are never sent anywhere. Come back on the same device to pick up where you left off. Under "Edit answers", "Start over" clears the current person's answers and "Remove this person" deletes that person.

What size are the images?

Square 1080×1080px for feeds and group chats, and story 1080×1920px for Instagram stories. On a phone, "Share" sends it straight to your family chat. A small wimouniv.com link sits at the bottom of each image.
