Reading Passbook Maker

A reading log that looks like a bank passbook — every finished book is a deposit. Type a name, pick a goal and print it on A4 or US Letter. Add a whole class at once by separating names with commas.

The first sheet holds the cover (name, a playful account number, the goal and an Opened date line) on top and the Goal reached page, which goes at the back, on the bottom. Every other sheet holds two log pages. Each passbook page is 19 × 12.8 cm (about 7.5 × 5 in), so two fit on US Letter or A4.

How it works

  1. 1

Type the reader’s name, then pick a goal (30, 50 or 100 books), one or two lines per book, kids or grown-ups, and a cover color. Flip through the preview page by page.

  2. 2

Tap Download PDF and print single-sided at Actual size (100%).

  3. 3

Cut along the dashed lines, stack the pages with the cover on top and the Goal reached page at the back, then staple twice through the Staple here strip.

FAQ

Is it really free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it is free, and there is no sign-up, email or watermark. Make as many versions as you like and print them at home or for your classroom.

What is a reading passbook?

It is a reading log styled like a bank savings book. Each book a child finishes is written down like a deposit, so the stack of entries grows the way a balance does. Kids love seeing their “account” fill up, and the finish page works as a small certificate when the goal is reached.

Can I make one for every student in my class?

Yes. Type the names separated by commas, or paste a class list straight from a spreadsheet (one name per line), up to 30 names of 16 characters each. Each student gets their own cover and Goal reached page inside a single PDF. The log pages are shared, so even a class of 30 stays a light file. Leave the name box empty for a blank master copy kids can write their own name on.

Is there a column for a parent or teacher signature?

The kids version has a Sign column on every row with a dashed circle for a stamp, sticker or initials. Every 10th book is circled so milestones like 10, 20 and 30 books stand out.

What is the difference between one line and two lines per book?

One line fits 10 books per page with a short one-line review. Two lines fits 5 books per page: the first line holds the date, title and author, the second line is for what the child thought about the book.

Is there a version for adults?

Choose Grown-ups and the Sign column turns into Pages and Total: log the pages you read as deposits and keep a running total like a balance. The back page asks for the “interest earned” — what the books gave you.

What size is it, and how do I print it?

Each passbook page is 19 × 12.8 cm (about 7.5 × 5 in), two per sheet. Pick US Letter or A4 to match your printer, print single-sided (the page order assumes one-sided sheets) and choose Actual size (100%). If your printer clips the edges, Fit to page only shrinks it slightly. Cardstock makes it feel like a real passbook.

Do you store the names I type?

No. The PDF is drawn inside your browser and the names are never sent or saved anywhere. The account number on the cover is a playful number made from the name, not a real account.
