Real-Time Salary Counter
Break your annual salary down to the second — how much are you earning right now?
How the counter works
Your annual salary is divided by the seconds in a year (365 days × 24 hours = 31,536,000 seconds), and the counter adds that rate for every second since you opened the page.
Example: on a $50,000 salary you make about $0.0016 per second, $0.10 per minute, $5.71 per hour and $136.99 per 24-hour day.
Turn on "20 workdays" and "8 hours (9–6)" together and the counter only runs on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00, 4.5x faster than the around-the-clock rate (30/20 days × 24/8 hours) — about $0.0071 per second, $25.68 per hour, or $1 every 2 minutes 20 seconds at $50,000. That treats each month as 20 paid days of 8 hours, so it reads a little higher than the usual $50,000 ÷ 2,080 hours ≈ $24.04.
FAQ
How much do I make per second?
Divide your annual salary by 31,536,000 (the seconds in a 365-day year). $50,000 a year is about $0.0016 per second around the clock, or about $0.0071 per second if you only count weekday work hours from 9 to 6.
How is this different from an hourly wage calculator?
An hourly calculator gives you one number. This page turns it into a live counter that keeps climbing while you work, so you can watch a meeting, a commute or a coffee break add up in real money.
What does work-hours mode do?
With "20 workdays" on, the counter stops on Saturday and Sunday and runs 1.5x faster on weekdays; with "8 hours (9–6)" on, it stops outside 9:00–18:00 by your device clock and runs 3x faster. Both together is 4.5x — the speed-up assumes a 30-day month with 20 paid workdays of 8 hours.
Should I enter my salary before or after tax?
Either. The counter just divides the number you type, so a gross salary gives gross earnings and take-home pay gives take-home earnings.
Does it count from when I started work today?
It counts from the moment you open the page. Hit Reset to start again from zero, and keep the tab open to let it run.
Do I need an app or browser extension? Is my salary saved?
No app, extension or account. Everything runs in your browser; your salary is not saved or sent anywhere, so it goes back to the default when you reload.
Can I use a currency other than USD?
The display supports US dollars and Korean won. For any other currency, type your salary in that currency and read the numbers as your own — the math is the same, only the symbol differs.
